Better to prevent than to cure.
How many times have you heard the phrase “Better to prevent than to cure”?
Wise words that can save you time, nerves, and money. They also apply when it comes to your oral health.
Prevention is a part of dentistry and dental practice that includes procedures to maintain the teeth and surrounding oral tissues in a healthy and functional state, with the goal of preventing pathological changes.
Let’s start from the beginning.
Teeth
Teeth, as hard dental tissues, play a significant role in human life. They are involved in chewing, the formation of certain sounds (phonation), and contribute to a person’s aesthetic and visual impression.
Supporting Structures
How many times has it happened that your gums bleed while brushing? Or that you’ve noticed bad breath and thought a piece of gum would solve it?
Neglecting gum hygiene can lead you into a vicious cycle that begins with gingivitis. Over time, this inflammation can spread deeper, affecting the bone and surrounding supportive structures. The end result: a loose tooth that loses its function and, in many cases, needs to be extracted. Once again, problems with chewing, phonation, and aesthetics arise.
And all of this could have been easily prevented.
How to Prevent Cavities and Inflammation of Supporting Tissues:
Annual Preventive and Check-Up Examinations
This is a check-up that is truly “worth its weight in gold,” and afterward, you can relax for a year. What does it involve?
Our dental doctors will examine your teeth and soft oral tissues, take a control panoramic X-ray (orthopantomogram), and assess the condition of your bone and tooth roots to rule out any pathological changes—or to intervene while they are still in the early stages.
What else is crucial during a preventive check-up?
Confirming the presence or absence of tartar and soft deposits on your teeth. If cavities are the main culprit behind the loss of dental structure, tartar is the main cause of gum inflammation, which can lead to periodontal disease and tooth loss.
In our clinic, we offer ultrasonic tartar removal and cleaning of soft deposits using dental sandblasting (air polishing). Doing this once or twice a year isn't too much to ask, right?
To sum it all up:
You are your own top priority!
Take care of your oral health—it’s part of your overall health. And let our expert doctors help you maintain it!
Book your check-up and enjoy a radiant smile—because a beautiful smile opens all doors!
